Prague hosts European qualification for the World Junior Curling Championship: Czech teams have already secured their place at the WJCC 2013

Again, after two years, a dedicated curling rink in Prague-Roztyly will witness qualifying games of the best young curling players for the WJCC. 12 junior women teams and 13 junior men teams from around Europe will participate in the second most important event of junior curling. This year the Czech teams will be mere spectators as they have already secured their place at the WJCC 2013 thanks to their great performance at the previous championship in Sweden, where the junior women team got a silver medal.

Dedicated curling rink in Prague-Roztyly, which offers European standard quality facilities, will surely witness high-quality and exciting games. Only one team from each category will qualify to the World Champinship. Among the biggest favourites of the tournament belong the junior men teams from Denmark, Netherlands and Germany and junior women teams from Denmark and Germany. Relatively new curling countries such as Estonia or Latvia aren't without chances as the performance of their junior teams is continuously improving. The attractiveness of the entire event is multiplied by the fact that the WJCC 2013 will take place in Sochi (Russia), the exact location of the Winter Olympic Games 2014 which will take place in 14 months.

The group games will be played from Thursday 3 January until Monday 7 January, and the tournament will conclude with the semi-finals and the final on Tuesday 8 January.

Praha hostí evropskou kvalifikaci pro juniorské mistrovství světa v curlingu: české týmy mají účast na MS 2013 již zajištěnu.

Opět po dvou letech bude specializovaná curlingová hala v Praze-Roztylech svědkem kvalifikačních bojů nejlepších mladých hráčů a hráček curlingu o postup na juniorské mistrovství světa. Druhého nejdůležitějšího podniku světového juniorského curlingu se zúčastní 12 týmů dívek a 13 týmů chlapců z celé Evropy. České týmy budou letos v pozici diváků, protože si již účast na Mistrovství světa juniorů v curlingu zajistily dobrými výkony na předchozím MS ve Švédsku, kdy děvčata dokonce získala stříbrnou medaili.

Specializovaná hala v Praze-Roztylech, která poskytuje kvalitní zázemí na úrovni evropských standardů, bude jistě svědkem kvalitních a napínavých utkání. Na mistrovství světa se totiž kvalifikuje pouze jedno nejlepší družstvo z každé kategorie. K největším favoritům mezi juniory patří Dánové, Holanďané a Němci, mezi juniorkami pak Dánky a Němky. Bez šancí nejsou ani relativně nové curlingové země jako Estonsko nebo Lotyšsko, které stále zlepšují výkonnost svých juniorských reprezentací. Atraktivita celé kvalifikace je umocněna tím, že Mistrovství světa juniorů v curlingu se v roce 2013 koná v Soči (Rusko), tedy přímo v místě, kde se budou za 14 měsíců odehrávat olympijské soutěže

Od čtvrtka 3. ledna do pondělí 7. ledna se budou hrát zápasy ve skupinách, v úterý 8. ledna vyvrcholí turnaj semifinálovými a finálovými boji.
